Don't know if you folks had a chance to check out the latest in Salsa's high-end handlebar lineup, so here it goes...

The new Salsa Pro Moto Carbon Flat Bar takes handlebar technology to the next level, and raises the bar on weight, durability, and fit standards. Unlike other carbon bars on the market, it comes in a whopping 660mm width with graduated ends for easy trimming. Co-engineered by our boy Yafro and the guys at True Temper/Alpha Q for the ultimate in strength and durability. Only 140g uncut!! 5°bend, 25.4mm clamp. Check it out here when you get the chance.

Clearing Your Mind

Ever notice how a bike ride just frees up your mind. There have been far too few of those rides for me lately.

But this weekend, there will be some sort of a ride. Fall leaves, probably chill air and rain, but a ride just the same. Exactly what the mind needs right now.

Enjoy your weekend. Pedal a bit.

Damn! It's been a long time since we've posted here. The SalsaCrew has been hard at work on the 2005 frames, parts and clothing and we just returned last week from an exhausting 9 days of Interbike fun. Sure, it looks like all drinking and partying to you folks, but to us Interbike is a down and dirty job of tireless hours greeting, shaking hands and working our vocal chords to the point of a whisper.

Many of you may have heard that we released our new Dos Niner 29" Softtail, and sure enough it was a hit with most of our dealers at the Dirt Demo. Chris of Speedgoat thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread!!! Check out Chris's comments on the SpeedGoat site at Dos Niner review. What does Chris say??? "I have to say the new Salsa 29'er was absolutely perfect for the terrain out here, and I can't wait to try one at home in the Southwest PA trails. This was definitely the bike of the day for me. It handled amazingly well, and those steep chutes of loose sand and wild roller-coaster climbs were no problem for the Dos. I wish I could have ridden this bike all day. It's that good"

Those are some serious kudos, Chris! Thanks.

For all you cyclocrossers out there, check this out!!! Our Salsa sponsored rider Brent Prenzlow went head-to-head with the one of the greatest cyclocrossers in the world, Italian Danielle Pontoni. Sure Brent got a second place to Pontoni, but how many people do you know that can finish within a minute of this guy???

Check out the awesome photos and results of Brent Prenzlow and his Celo Pacific Bicycle Racing Team.

Gotta run. I promise we won't be such strangers anymore. Oh, and I should have some Dos Niner photos to post soon.

Later
