Good Times, Good Friends, Great Sport

I was just reflecting the other day on how fortunate I am to work with Salsa and in the bicycle industry in general. It was 1989 when I got my first real mountain bike. The addiction started with that Diamond Back Ascent with gray smoke paintjob...ah yeah. A year later and it was back for a Bridgestone MB-Zip. The hook was in my mouth and I couldn't spit it out. Shoot, I still can't.

All those bikes led to a lot of really great friends. More than I can count really. Some have moved, but others have stayed. I've bought bikes from some of them and worked with others. We've ridden bikes, talked about bikes, and enjoyed quite a few beers along the way.

Bikes have been such a central part of my life for the past 18 years that I can't even imagine what I'd be like without their influence. Kinda wierd when you really think about it like that.

So raise your glass to our illustrious sport. Many don't know anything about it and that's a crying shame. Take a friend out for a bike ride. Or a kid. So we have more people to raise our glasses with in the future...many more.
