Additional Features
Split Pivot® Rear Suspension
The concentric rear axle pivot in conjunction with precise wheel link, brake link, and control link placement, results in several performance gains: Exceptional bump compliance, Maximum traction, Incredible pedaling efficiency, Predictable braking, Improved frame geometry due to the elimination of unwanted suspension movement during acceleration and braking
Fat Bike-Specific Suspension Travel
100mm of Split Pivot® rear wheel travel that is tuned to work in tandem with high-volume, low-pressure 26 x 4.0" fat bike tires. The result is ground-clawing traction monster that redefines what line choice is, both up and down the hill. The frame is designed and balanced for a 100mm travel, 50mm offset RockShox Bluto suspension fat bike fork
Multiple Wheel & Tire Options
Bucksaw is designed around 26 x 4.0" tires mounted on 65–82mm rims and inflated to 8–12 psi depending on rider weight and terrain. Bucksaw is also compatible with other wheel setups that roll out to a 735–740mm overall diameter. This includes 27.5 x 3.0–3.25" (27.5+) and 29 x 2.3–2.5", as long as the wheels and tires are laced to 177/150mm hubs to match the frame and fork, respectively
Bucksaw Geometry
4" high-volume tires and full suspension combine to create a bike that wants to climb up lines most other bikes can’t, and when pointed downhill, the gyroscopic stability and traction of all that rubber begs to let off the leash. As a result, the geometry has been tailored to match: slack and low, the Bucksaw is closer in angles and feel to our Horsethief than it is to a Mukluk or Beargrease. The Bucksaw is designed to handle best when you are getting after it, using the advantages of fat tires and suspension to their full monster-truck capacity
High-Modulus Carbon Fiber Front Triangle & Seatstays
This material offers improved stiffness, better vibration damping, excellent toughness, and weight savings compared to other materials. This frame offers 340g weight savings over the aluminum version. Aluminum 6066-T6 heat-treated chainstays are paired for durability
Interior Junction Control Molding Technology
We use interior molds at all the main front triangle junctions during layup and curing. This allows for precise control of wall thickness and inner wall smoothness in these areas. This process increases compaction and reduces voids and wrinkles in critical high-stress zones. The end result is a high-quality, consistent-performing carbon frame
Full-Size Bottle Compatible
Front triangle is capable of fitting a full-size (28 oz) water bottle
PressFit 41 x 121mm Bottom Bracket w/ ISCG05 Tabs
Compatible with all 1x and 2x fat bike cranks with
Modular Front Derailleur Bracket
65mm chainlines, both GXP and 24mm spindle types. ISCG05 tabs for chainguide mounting to increase chain security
Replaceable Derailleur Hanger
The high direct-mount front derailleur bracket is removable. A smooth cover blank takes its place when 1x drivetrain setup is used, providing a clean look and saving a few extra grams in the process
Replaceable Sealed Cartridge Bearings
Extra sold separately, Salsa Split Pivot® Top Cap Dropout Tool included with frame for field changes without the need to carry a 22mm cone wrench
Tapered Headtube
17287-2RS (qty 4), 6801-2RS (qty 4)
The modern standard for mountain bikes; increases front-end frame and fork stiffness without adding significant weight
