Additional Features

Interior Junction Control Molding Technology

We use interior molds at all the main front triangle junctions during lay up and curing. This allows for precise control of wall thickness and inner wall smoothness in these areas. This process increases compaction and reduces voids and wrinkles in critical high stress zones. The end result is a top-quality carbon frame that delivers consistent high performance

Woodsmoke Geometry

Woodsmoke uses a longer toptube and shorter stem to put the rider in a confidence-inspiring position for off-road riding. Using the same stem length, offsets, and angles on each frame size, we provide riders across our size range with the same consistent front-end experience. Combining this front end with ultra-short chainstays, as short as 400mm, makes Woodsmoke an extremely agile trail bike

Ultra-Short Chainstays

Woodsmoke challenges the current notion of “short.” Inspired by our previous hardtail development and elevated chainstay bikes of the past, we wanted to push the limits of chainstay length. Not just short for short’s sake though, the Woodsmoke has monster truck rollover with sports car nimbleness. With Woodsmoke geometry and the option of 27.5+, 29", and 29+ wheels and tires, Woodsmoke is the ideal blend of the best traction for the task at hand and all-day shredability

Alternator Dropouts V2.0

Alternator Dropouts deliver incredible drivetrain versatility. Run singlespeed or geared. Set the dropouts all the way forward for a shorter wheelbase and more nimble handling, or set back for increased stability. See our Alternator page

Versatile Build Options

Woodsmoke offers a variety of canvases for the off-road artist. Build it with 29+, 27.5+, or 29er tires for the appropriate use case and traction. Use a 120–140mm travel suspension fork or our rigid Firestarter fork. Build it up geared or singlespeed with the Alternator 2.0 dropouts that can change chainstay lengths from 400 to 417mm long). Woodsmoke can easily adapt to whatever flavor of undertaking you’re up for

1x & 2x Drivetrain Compatible

This frame is compatible with both 1x and 2x drivetrain setups. A removable direct-mount front derailleur bracket allows for clean 1x build. 2x builds are possible for 27.5+ and 29er setups. 29+ is 1x only

Rear Wheel & Tire Options

29 x 2.4–3.0", 27.5 x 2.8–3.25"

Suspension Fork Compatible

Designed around a 120mm travel fork for 29+, 130–140mm travel fork for 27.5+, and 120mm travel fork for 29er (51mm offset for all). Also compatible with Salsa Firestarter fork for fully rigid setup

Full-Length Internal Housing Cable Routing

Full-length housing improves shifting performance in poor conditions and increases use time between maintenance intervals

Dropper Post Compatible

Frame accommodates internal routing for a dropper post
