Additional Features

Designed to Meet Your Needs

We offer our Journeyman model in two different wheel/tire sizes (700c x 37/38mm or 650b x 2.1") as well as in two different handlebar styles (drop bar or flat bar). There is a Journeyman to meet your needs as a rider

Journeyman Specific Aluminum Tubing

Journeyman utilizes the same custom toptube and downtube we developed for the Warbird Aluminum, with new seatstays, chainstays, and dropouts in 6061-T6 aluminum to match. The entire frame is then heat treated to T6 alloy standards for extra strength and durability

650b x 2.1" Wheel/Tire Spec

650b wheels with 2.1" tires provide a high-volume, plush ride and increased traction for increased stability on rougher surfaces

Salsa Salt Flat Handlebar

Flat handlebars offer excellent leverage and control, especially when riding on bumpy, loose surfaces. They also offer a more upright position than drop bar handlebars

Fantail Aluminum Fork

Feature-packed aluminum fork with a tapered steerer and flat-mount brake. A crown light mount, fender eyelets, mid-blade mounts for low rider racks, and Three-Pack mounts for our Anything Cages or water bottles help add to the potential length of your rides

Journeyman Geometry

Journeyman geometry was developed from years of riding our Vaya and Warbird. Taking cues from both, Journeyman is comfortable stable and confidence inspiring whether it’s your daily driver, you’re ripping up dirt paths into and through town, exploring unfamiliar terrain, or entering your first gravel race. Spirited when you want it to be, but relaxed enough to leave you with the energy for long rides

Full-Length Internal Cable Routing

Full-length housing improves shifting performance in poor conditions and increases use time between maintenance intervals. Internal routing for a clean, uncluttered look.

Front and Rear Fender Mounts

Integrated front and rear fender mounts for drier riding in inclement weather.

Front and Rear Rack Compatible

Low rider rack capability on the fork with mid-blade mounts with integrated mounts for a rear rack. For optimal rear rack fit, we recommend our Wanderlust Rack

Toptube Bag Mounts

Install our EXP Series Toptube bag using Journeyman’s integrated toptube mounts

FAQ

Can I use a suspension fork on this frame?

No, this frame was not designed or tested for use with a suspension fork.

Do you offer touch-up paint?

No, we do not offer touch up paint. Hobby shops or automotive stores are excellent places to find paint. We suggest you test the paint on a scrap piece of metal before using it on your frame.

I crashed and dented (or cracked) my frame. Is it safe to ride?

Stop riding your frame immediately and take it to the nearest Salsa authorized dealer for inspection. A dented or cracked tube represents a structural weakening of the frame, and is a safety risk.
