6061-T6 alloy frame

Confluence’s aluminum alloy tubing is developed specifically for the Confluence frame, and is heat-treated to T6 alloy standards for extra strength and durability.

Carbon fiber fork

The Confluence Carbon fork is lightweight, comfortable, cargo-ready, and gives you loads of tire clearance to play with.

MAHLE X35+ Class 1 hub-drive system

This Class 1 rear hub-drive motor delivers electric assist up to 20mph/32kph. It’s one of the lightest ebike systems in-market, and its low-profile appearance mean that Confluence looks like a regular gravel bike.

40Nm max torque

Up to 40Nm of assist that feels natural, not overwhelming. The MAHLE X35+ system offers three assist levels, and sensors detect when you’re pedaling to moderate the level of support generated at the hub.

250Wh internal battery

You can’t see it, but you’ll certainly feel it. MAHLE’s 250Wh battery is nestled inside Confluence’s downtube. This battery size hits the ideal combination of efficiency and weight for what we designed Confluence to do.

Capable of up to 458Wh with MAHLE Range Extender battery (sold separately)

Easily increase your range for bigger adventures with a Range Extender battery available from MAHLE.

iWOC One compact remote top tube controller

Minimal and intuitive controller displays battery status and allows you to cycle through assist modes with one button.

Connected if you want to be

The MAHLE system offers Ant+ connectivity for third party devices, and Bluetooth® for app integration. MAHLE’s MySmartBike app allows for customization, metrics, mapping, and more.

Massive 700c x 50mm tire clearance

Confluence fits up to 700c x 50mm tires, so you can ride those lesser-traveled tracks. 700c x 42mm maximum tire clearance when equipped with fenders.

On-bike cargo features

Attach front and rear racks to your Confluence for serious cargo capacity, or use the sleeker Three-Pack mounts for extra water bottles or our EXP Series Anything Cage HD to pack a cooking kit, extra layers, or whatever else you dream up.

FAQ

What is the range?

Ebike range depends on many factors, including rider and equipment weight, weather conditions, route choice, assist level and more. The MAHLE X35+ system paired with a 250Wh battery is designed to offer a range of up to 45 miles (72 kilometers) per charge under ideal conditions. MAHLE range-extender batteries (sold separately) greatly increase the ground you can cover with assist.

What is the Mahle hub-drive system?

Confluence uses the MAHLE X35+ hub-drive system, which features a motor integrated in the bike’s rear hub, powered by a battery in the bike’s downtube. It’s one of the lightest, most discreet ebike systems on the market. The X35+ system delivers 40Nm of torque and is paired with a 250Wh battery. This is a Class 1 system that only provides electric assist up to 20mph.

How do I maintain my e-bike?

Maintenance on an ebike is mostly the same as any other bike, but keep these tips in mind:

  • More torque and more miles = more wear: Electric assist puts more strain on components and empowers you to ride more miles, so parts like your chain, brakes, and tires may wear out faster than you’re used to. Check them frequently and replace as you would on any other bike.
  • Washing is OK: The motor and battery on your ebike are sealed against water, so you can wash your ebike like you would a regular bike. However, avoid high-pressure hoses and keep the charging port closed to block moisture. Wipe down controllers rather than spraying them directly with water.
  • Battery care: Your ebike’s battery will last longer if the bike is stored in a cool, dry place. If storing the bike for long periods of time, try to keep battery charged between 30–60%. The battery will gradually lose charge, so check it periodically and charge as necessary.
  • Don’t try motor maintenance at home: If your ebike’s motor, battery, or other electronic components aren’t functioning properly, take them to your local authorized Salsa retailer for service — do not attempt to repair them yourself.

Is my ebike safe to keep in my home?

Yes. The batteries used in Salsa ebikes are UL2849-compliant, meaning they have been tested to the highest standards of safety to prevent electrical shock or fires. Always use the manufacturer-supplied charger for your ebike.

Do you offer touch-up paint?

No, we do not offer touch up paint. Hobby shops or automotive stores are excellent places to find paint. We suggest you test the paint on a scrap piece of metal before using it on your frame.

I crashed and dented (or cracked) my frame. Is it safe to ride?

Stop riding your frame immediately and take it to the nearest Salsa authorized dealer for inspection. A dented or cracked tube represents a structural weakening of the frame, and is a safety risk.

What is the warranty for this bike?
