2018 Redpoint Carbon GX Eagle

2018 Redpoint Carbon GX Eagle

Archived

Redpoint Carbon GX Eagle is made for slicing your way through rough, technical trails like a hot knife through butter. The RockShox Pike 160mm fork is combined with 150mm of travel in the rear using Split Pivot suspension technology for that extra bit of forgivingness, while the SRAM GX Eagle and light weight carbon frame make climbing anything a breeze.

Additional Features

Split Pivot® Rear Suspension

The concentric rear axle pivot in conjunction with precise wheel link, brake link, and control link placement, results in several performance gains: Exceptional bump compliance / Maximum traction / Incredible pedaling efficiency / Predictable braking / Improved frame geometry due to the elimination of unwanted suspension movement during acceleration and braking

Trail Bike Suspension Travel

150mm of Split Pivot® rear wheel travel is tuned with a more progressive feel than our other bikes. This makes for a bike that climbs and pedals more efficiently than the travel might suggest, and offers an increased amount of support in the mid-stroke and end-stroke ramp-up for aggressive riders that are looking to charge hard in big terrain without over-riding the suspension. The frame is spec'd with a 160mm front fork, but can also be paired with a 150mm fork if desired

Versatile Wheel & Tire Options

Redpoint is designed for use with 27.5 x 2.3–2.5" wheels and tires, but thanks to the use of BOOST-148 rear spacing, BOOST-148 drivetrain components, and compatibility with 110mm-spaced 27.5" (42–44mm offset) forks, the Redpoint frame is also compatible with 26+ (26 x 3.0" tires on 45–50mm wide rims)

Redpoint Geometry

Low-slung with short 430mm chainstays, Redpoint is agile in tight terrain and rails through corners. A 66.4° head angle is just right; slack enough to the take full advantage of the bike's travel and charge the descents, but also allows for stable and well-mannered bike on the climbs. The Redpoint is a modern-day all-rounder capable of handling any trail on the mountain. The front-end trail of the Redpoint is designed around standard 42–44mm fork offset 27.5" forks

BOOST-148 Technology

148 x 12mm rear spacing paired with a standard width bottom bracket results in the most tire clearance possible with the narrowest crank q-factor, and also results in a stiffer and stronger rear wheel

Modern Fit

Redpoint is designed for a modern trail fit. This means a short stem, wider bar, and longer effective toptube are used to place the rider in the same position they are familiar with on their older trail bike. This results in a more precise steering motion due to the shorter stem, lots of front wheel control with the wide bar, and plenty of front-center length and cockpit room for fore-aft body movement when things get rowdy. Each frame size is designed around a 50mm stem and wide bar. To maintain the correct hand position relative to the pedals and saddle, the Redpoint has a longer horizontal toptube. No more need to size up when selecting a frame size with the intent of running 40-60mm stems. We built it in for you!

High-Modulus Carbon Fiber Front Triangle & Seatstays

This material offers improved stiffness, better vibration damping, excellent toughness and weight savings compared to other materials. This frame offers 340g weight savings over the aluminum version. 6066-T6 aluminum heat-treated chainstays are paired for durability

Interior Control Molding Technology

We use interior molds throughout the front triangle during layup and curing. This allows for precise control of wall thickness and inner wall smoothness. This process increases compaction and reduces voids and wrinkles. The end result is a higher-quality, more consistent performing carbon frame

Full-Size Bottle Compatible

Front triangle is capable of fitting a full-size (28 oz) water bottle

PressFit 41 x 92mm Bottom Bracket w/ ISCG05 Tabs

Compatible with all 1x and 2x BOOST mountain cranks, both GXP and 24mm spindle types. ISCG05 tabs for chainguide mounting to increase chain security
