Additional Features
High-modulus carbon fiber frame
Wanderosa’s carbon fiber frame keeps weight to a minimum and provides a custom-tuned blend of stiffness and compliance where it matters.
Progressive Gravel Geometry
Wanderosa combines a long reach with a short stem and wide drop bars. This puts riders in position for comfort, confidence, and control on rugged terrain at higher speeds.
Flex-stay rear suspension design
Wanderosa’s flex-stay suspension uses a flexing frame element in the rear triangle instead of the rear axle pivot used in our Split Pivot design. Wanderosa’s seatstays are shaped and tuned to flex along their length, making up the difference that a pivot normally would as the suspension moves, but without the weight of bearings and pivot hardware. Wanderosa is set up for 110mm of rear wheel travel but can also be set to 100mm by reducing shock stroke to 40mm.
FAZUA Ride 60 drive unit
This mid-drive electric-assist system delivers up to 60Nm of torque and is custom-tuned for gravel riding. This is a Class 3 drive unit with pedal assist limited to 28 mph/45 kmh. Models sold in Canada are equipped with Class 1 drive units (pedal assist limited to 20 mph/32 kmh).
480Wh internal battery
The FAZUA Energy 480 battery offers enough range to get lost on your favorite forest roads. It’s fully encased in the downtube for added stiffness and a clean look, yet is removable for service.
29 x 2.35″ tire clearance
Larger tires keep you comfortable and in control on even the most rugged gravel roads.
On-bike cargo
Bring all the essentials (and maybe a few luxuries) on your next ride. Wanderosa fits a water bottle and includes dedicated space for your multitool, tube, and pump. An downtube accessory mount and direct-mount bag mounts make it easy to expand your cargo capacity for longer days out.
Compatible with SRAM UDH and Full Mount drivetrains
Reliable and durable drivetrain setups for all your adventures.
Molded frame protection
Take the “ding” out of riding with durable, custom-fit frame protection pieces in high-wear and damage-prone areas.
FAQ
What is the FAZUA Ride 60 mid-drive system?
Wanderosa uses the FAZUA Ride 60 mid-drive system. This system features a motor built into the bike’s bottom bracket, powered by a battery in the bike’s downtube. The Ride 60 system delivers up to 60Nm of torque and is paired with a 480Wh Fazua Energy 480 battery. This is a Class 3 system that only provides electric assist up to 28mph/45kph.
For more information visit our Why Fazua? page.
What is the range?
Ebike range depends on many factors, including rider and equipment weight, weather conditions, route choice, assist level, and more. The FAZUA app provides real-time data on battery level and range.
Is the battery removable?
The battery is designed to be removed only by a bike shop for service.
How do I maintain my e-bike?
Maintenance on an ebike is mostly the same as any other bike, but keep these tips in mind:
- More torque and more miles = more wear: Electric assist puts more strain on components and empowers you to ride more miles, so parts like your chain, brakes, and tires may wear out faster than you’re used to. Check them frequently and replace as you would on any other bike.
- Washing is OK: The motor and battery on your ebike are sealed against water, so you can wash your ebike like you would a regular bike. However, avoid high-pressure hoses and keep the charging port closed to block moisture. Wipe down controllers rather than spraying them directly with water.
- Battery care: Your ebike’s battery will last longer if the bike is stored in a cool, dry place. If storing the bike for long periods of time, try to keep battery charged between 30–60%. The battery will gradually lose charge, so check it periodically and charge as necessary.
- Don’t try motor maintenance at home: If your ebike’s motor, battery, or other electronic components aren’t functioning properly, take them to your local authorized Salsa retailer for service — they are trained and best-equipped to maintain and repair ebike systems.
Is my ebike safe to keep in my home?
Yes. The batteries used in Salsa ebikes are UL 2849-compliant, meaning they have been tested to the highest standards of safety to prevent electrical shock or fires. Always use the manufacturer-supplied charger for your ebike.
Can I run flat bars on my Wanderosa?
Yes, but doing so will change your riding position and change how the bike handles. You may want to adjust reach and/or stack by using a longer or higher-rise stem. Also, keep in mind that you will need a new shift lever and new brake systems, which may require brake adapters for compatability with the frame.
Can I install a rear rack on my Wanderosa?
No, due to rear suspension and frame design there is no way to install a rear rack on the Wanderosa.
Are there integrated frame bag options for the Wanderosa?
We offer free frame bag guidlines so you can have your favorite bag manufacturer make a custom direct-mount frame bag for your Wanderosa. Find frame bag guidelines here.
Can I install a different suspension fork on my Wanderosa?
The Rockshox SID fork that comes equipped on Wanderosa is a special class 3 ebike-rated suspension fork. Only suspension forks with a class 3 ebike rating and maximum axle to crown of 531mm are approved for use with Wanderosa. Please note that most other "e-rated" suspension forks are only for class 1 ebikes.
A 100, 110, or 120mm Rockshox SID air spring can be used in the OE fork. Maximum axle-to-crown fork length should not exceed 531mm.
Do you offer touch-up paint?
No, we do not offer touch up paint. Hobby shops or automotive stores are excellent places to find paint. We suggest you test the paint on a scrap piece of metal before using it on your frame.
I crashed and dented (or cracked) my frame. Is it safe to ride?
Stop riding your frame immediately and take it to the nearest Salsa authorized dealer for inspection. A dented or cracked tube represents a structural weakening of the frame, and is a safety risk.
What is the warranty for this bike?
